Tour Highlights: Rongli [Altitude: 5,200 ft.] Rongli is a small township in East Sikkim, located on the banks of the Rongli River. This is where the Inner Line Permit (ILP) is issued for visitors traveling towards Nathula. Rongli Dam The Rongli Dam is a concrete structure on the Rongli River, standing at 41 meters in height and capable of holding 45,200 cubic meters of water. Lingtam [Altitude: 5,082 ft.] Lingtam is a small, picturesque village beyond the Rongli permit zone. Surrounded by hills on all sides, it is known for its peaceful, sun-kissed weather. You can also visit the Lingtam Monastery here. Keukhela Falls (Kali Khola Falls) Located on the Old Silk Route between Lingtam and Padamchen, Keukhela Falls cascades from a height of 100 meters, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. Zuluk [Altitude: 7,000 ft.] A small village in East Sikkim and part of the historic Old Silk Route, Zuluk is situated at 10,000 feet above sea level. It is gaining popularity among tourists due to its untouched natural beauty and stunning views of the Himalayas. Witnessing the sunrise over the snow-capped mountains from your homestay is an unforgettable experience. Overnight stay at a homestay in Zuluk. Zig Zag Road (Bhulbhuliya Road) Zig Zag Road, or Bhulbhuliya, is a unique and thrilling mountain road featuring nearly 32 hairpin bends. It is considered one of the top 10 most dangerous roads in the world. Each turn offers a mesmerizing view of Zuluk and the surrounding landscape. Thambi Viewpoint [Altitude: 11,200 ft.] Located 14 km from Zuluk, Thambi Viewpoint offers a stunning panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other snow-clad peaks. The viewpoint is situated on the famous Zig Zag Road and is a must-visit destination. Lungthung [Altitude: 11,500 ft.] Lungthung, a small village at 11,600 ft., provides a breathtaking panoramic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the surrounding valleys. Tukla Valley [Altitude: 12,500 ft.] A significant stop on the Silk Route, Tukla Valley features a war memorial dedicated to British soldiers who fought in the Battle of Tukla. Jelep La Pass View [Altitude: 13,999 ft.] Jelep La Pass, meaning "The Lovely Level Pass," is located near Tukla Valley at an altitude of 14,000 ft. This historic pass once connected India to Lhasa, Tibet, and was an essential trade route. Though higher than Nathula Pass, it is the easiest of all the passes in Sikkim. Currently, civilian access is restricted. Old Baba Mandir [Altitude: 13,123 ft.] This shrine is dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, a martyr of the Indian Army's 23rd Regiment. It is the original bunker where Baba stayed during the Indo-China War of 1962. The temple is maintained by the Indian Army. Nathang Valley [Altitude: 13,200 ft.] Popularly known as the "Ladakh of East India," Nathang Valley is one of the most beautiful destinations on the Old Silk Route. Nestled at 13,000 ft., the valley transforms with the seasons – golden in autumn, filled with flowers in monsoon, and blanketed in 5 feet of snow during winter. The valley is adorned with fluttering prayer flags and intersected by small streams, offering a serene and picturesque experience. After a full-day excursion, return to Zuluk for an overnight stay at a homestay.
